12 Days Of Crafting Fa la la !

Good Morning Darcey’s Angels! These last couple of weeks of November are a funny old time at WDS HQ, what begins as the most joyful of months with serious crafting for Christmas well underway, by the last week things are getting a bit ” if I see another sprig of holly I’m going postal”.

At this point I have two commissions to finish and by next weekend all Christmas crafting will be done, I will breathe a sigh of relief and turn my attention to what I am going to do in the 2 weeks I’m going to take off, and of course the answer is crafting! Here are the projects I would like to get done:

First the gloves to match the scarf I made a while ago……

This Louisa Harding pattern from Knits From An English Rose is so pretty …and so difficult! It features lace and cables but is totally worth it knitted in Louisa’s Amitola yarn.

New scarf and gloves requires a new hat……

This from an ages old Rowan book all patterns are knitted in their Big Wool, I’ve got a  lovely caramel ball winging its way to me.

I’ve been dying to do this from Mollie Makes…….

I won’t be building my own loom ( the magazine  contains full instructions) I will be using one from my childhood that has hidden away for years!

I hope to get round to using these waterproof fabrics…..

I think I will make some make up bags with them.

Finally I have decided to pick up jewellery making again and I will be polishing my techniques with the aid of this book….

I really want to make these…….

Obviously I will show you what gets made in the New Year!

Have a super week

I Get Pierced And The President Turns Orange!

Hello my little mince pies! This has been a bit of a week! First I got my ear pierced! Read on for the details, then my consultant has changed my diagnosis again, so I won’t be getting the treatment I thought, just medication for symptoms, and then what had started as a joke became a reality…President elect Donald Trump! This will be an interesting 4 years!

So what do we need in a time of uncertainty? People we can rely on! Here are some companies that are just great at giving you exactly what you need. Sorry for the stock photos, it’s all arthritis fault, keep reading and you will be rewarded ;).

First that piercing…..

This was done for me at ……….

Swift, reasonably priced and completely professional I will be going back!

Just down the road is this………

This is Cass Art, simply the best art supplies shop there is, regular promotions make them budget friendly and the range of materials run from half term supplies to the high grade professional.

Now to my online go getters ……….

This German retailer blows all its competitors out of the water! I’ve just bought Dr Hauschka moisturiser ( which retails for £29.50)and a relaxing bath set (£17) for £32 including delivery! And don’t worry if your German isn’t great just hit the Uk flag and the page will translate and display the prices in sterling.

At this time of year I get through a lot of felt, my go to for super quality felt and embellishments is…..

Swift delivery, beautiful felt and a sweetie in every pack makes this company a winner.

Finally, one of the many yarn suppliers I use……

Apart from their so cute logo, this company is so competitive on price and has a lot of hard to find yarns.

And here is your gift for putting up with the stock photos, my ‘poo crew hitting the skate park hard!

How sweet are they? Now I’ve finally loaded video successfully I will be doing some watch me work videos and some DIYS in the New Year.

Here’s to a peaceful week

I’m On Fire! And In 3D!

I bet you saw that and thought Hollywood had finally called me? I’m afraid not dear reader a combination of rampant arthritis and the dreaded methotrexate have rendered me achy, with burning muscle pain and a face that was red and itchy, until a few days ago. As I can’t change anything about my achey bones I decided to look for skincare to sort out the beetroot face.

My go to brand in this situation is Dr Haushcka which is guaranteed to settle any inflammation within hours…but thats all it does, there is no real “performance” to them, so I had a little look round our local health food shop and mistakenly (but thank goodness) picked this up……..

Made with Repix (http://repix.it)

This kit contained nothing I actually went out for but it is brilliant! there is a micro bead exfoliant, a mask and a BB cream, there was also a sachet of an overnight treatment. These products are superb, really delivering their promise of increased radiance and a heathy glow. This kit is a little over £30 and is available from lots of online retailers and direct from http://www.renskincare.com.

The next product is from Younique, yes the company that gets quite a lot of attention because of its way of recruiting staff, allegations of a pyramid scheme have been flying around but very rarely do people talk about the products. When a friend of mine started to work for them I knew I wanted to try their star product – Moodstuck 3D fibre lashes…..

Now I struggle with mascara, there’s the sensitivity and the lashes dropping out from the methotrexate, its a struggle, but not anymore and the results are so good here’s a before and after ( apologies for the extreme close up)……….

Here’s the before with very little lashes, and heres the after…..

Amazing! the application is a little bit of a faff, first the transplanting gel, then the fibres, then the gel again, but they all apply like mascara and here’s the best bit it comes off with warm water so I don’t have to scrub at my eyes! Not cheap at £23 but worth it for a bit of glamour! its available from your local Younique presenter.

Finally, and for no good reason other than I had just watched the film Divergent and the quote makes me feel stronger……

This beautiful necklace was made by a lady called Roelene, you can find her on Facebook just search Curiously Charmed.

I promise next week I will have that painting nearly finished!

Stay Divergent
