Gardening? I Should Coco!

Morning pumpkins! Do you love gardening? I really don’t, it leaves me a bit…meh, I can’t get enthusiastic about growing my own vegetables ( although I do intend to grow some salad items next year), but I do love flowers so I have been giving some thought to what kind of flowers I would like. Of course what I should be doing is looking at the practicality of various varieties, their drought resistance etc, etc but where’s the fun in that? Let’s look at colour! My favourite colours in the entire world are 3 colours associated with the design house of Chanel, here they are……..

So once I had those three colours I headed over to and picked out some plants within those groups, first up the Rouge Noir flowers…..

This is wallflower ” purple shades”.

This is Lillium “Black Beauty”.

This is Tulipa ” black parrot”

The beige shade was tricky but I found these gorgeous creams and ivories ……..

What better way to start the year than with crocosmia ” albus”?

This is Azelea Rhodedendron “daviesii”.

This is Jasmine “Devon cream”

I need just one plant in the white category…….

Perfectly Chanel in every way is the Camellia Japonica “perfection white”

To further satisfy my need for beige I will be planting in beige pots……

These ones are from IKEA .

I’m really excited to get going and will be heading to to do my plant shopping.

Do you love gardening? I’d love to see some pictures!

Have a fantastic week

If You Can Dream It Blah, Blah, Blah

Good Morning kitty cats! I’m sure if you have ever been on any social media, you will have seen many inspirational quotes about making your dreams a reality. You know the sort of stuff “dream it, do it” “dream big” etc, etc. But how to turn those wishes in reality? The book “The Secret” was a big proponent of putting out positive thoughts to the universe and then the universe would send it back to you, hmmm, I’m not entirely sure.

I am persuaded by the concept of the wish board, where you pin pictures, quotes or anything that relates to your wishes, I think by doing so you make those wishes more real and then you inevitably take steps to achieve them ( no magic required). Here’s mine…….

So let’s start at the bottom with the rainbow semi circle and go roughly anti clockwise! ….

Wish 1: meditate more, this is a screen shot from the Buddhify app and I need to get back in the habit! It helps me focus and therefore achieve more.

Wish 2: Marks and Spencer’s Hollywood Deco china, just because! It’s the colour of a Laduree shop and therefore belongs in my macaron themed kitchen!

Wish 3: jazzy ankle boots! Now this wish means I will have to lose weight and get on medication that works for my arthritis, so it’s really 3 wishes in one!

Wish 4: Barre fit class, I’m desperate to do one, and again meds will have to change, but who knows if they work I will be buying that tutu.

Wish 5: Gemporia’s bridge rings ( tiny picture) they are a bargain and I would like lots!

Wish 6: Mollie Makes but specifically the cover kit, it is my dream to be the designer of one of those and as soon as I have a suitable design I will be submitting it.

Wish 7: multiple piercing, I want a pretty, teeny extra piercing in my ear.

Wish 8: an old fashioned, velvet button back sofa, this one is from good old Marks and Sparks!

Wish 9: “Meet Etsys Brightest Stars” self explanatory really, I want to be one!

Wish 10: Helen Mirren! No I don’t want to be her, but I would like to grow old in a glamorous way, however more importantly I want to grow old, if you have had cancer you lose your faith in immortality, so I need to get that faith back by taking the very best care of myself.

Writing this post has really focuses my mind and made me realise how much of what I want hinges on me taking care of myself! To that end I undertake to check in on this boards progress in the blog post on 31.12 who knows how far I will get?

Have you got a wish list? I’d love to hear it!

This Week I’ve Mainly Been …….

Good morning my little cupcakes! If I wrote a piece that fitted the above title it would contain one word….Painting! I’m in my usual mad panic before Lindfield Arts Festival, here’s what I’ve done recently….

This last picture still has some work to do and ideally I would like to do another one, probably a horse but ideally a unicorn!

So what do you do in your spare time when you craft for a living? You do more craft obviously! Here’s a couple of projects I have on the boil currently. Let’s start by talking about one of my heroines -Twinkie Chan……

This is the first book I had by Twinkie and I love it! Full of food related items, I’m sure  I will need this cupcake scarf for dog walking!

It was a no brainier to get her second book….

I will be starting this taco pencil case when the painting frenzy slows.

This next project is what I’m doing this week when I’m not painting…….

Needlepoint is so relaxing and requires very little mental input, don’t ask me where I got this or what it’s called, it’s been sitting unloved in a bag for at least a couple of years!

What do you do in your downtime? I know there’s a lot of creative people that follow this blog!

Have a a superb week,

I Fearlessly Go Inside The Pyramid!

Welcome my loves, first of all thanks for all the love of last weeks post, it meant a lot to me and the ginger nutter! Now let’s get down to business, if you have any contact with social media you will be acquainted with one or more of these brands; Younique, Forever Living, Actiderm and Jamberry.

These brands rely on their presenters putting their brand message out there and let’s be honest recruiting more people to the fold. But that’s not the whole story, what about the products? I’ll be clear from the outset none of the brands pay me or asked for this review, I just thought it would be interesting to see what was behind the hype.

So let’s get going first up is Forever Living, my lovely Pilates teacher Tamsin provided me with this bunch of samples……

All the products are based on natural ingredients like Aloe and Propolis. Between me and my daughter we tried everything, the stand out products for me were the heat lotion which does the job without skin irritation, and the Aloe Propolis cream which I used on my very cracked feet, it delivers great moisture and softness. Carys loved the lip balm which was really moisturising without greasiness. I will be buying a product that I didn’t test, the company produces a number of Aloe drinks that have various minerals added, I will be buying the version called Freedom that is helpful for joint care.  Head to

Now I have reviewed Younique before but was lucky enough to win a raffle for a box of their make up…..

These kits are called Kudos and this one is in support of child sexual abuse charity called defend innocence. Inside is a cream to powder eye shadow, an eyeliner a lipstick and a bracelet. Here are the swatches…..

These are great products but the standout for me is the marvellously named splurge eyeshadow! This is a mousse like product that goes on so smoothly and. Does. Not. Budge. Ever!!! I wore it on a boiling hot day and it was still perfect at the end of the day. It’s not cheap at £21 but I think it’s worth it. Here’s your link

I jumped in on an Actiderm group on Facebook run by a lovely lady called Leah and bought a cream to powder eyeshadow for comparison …….

This is also a cracking product, a bit less pigmented but with a lovely cream to powder formulation , it is also a stay s put product. The price for this is  £11 And you can pop over to Leah’s site  here

Last but definitely not least is Jamberry nail wraps, these are applied at home but deliver salon worthy results…….

I am really sorry for the horrendous photo! I got a free sample from a lady called Lisa and it lasted forever, in fact my nails are bare because it outlasted 3 lots of nail varnish ! This is my favourite product of the lot, they are £15 for a full set. Pop over to

So, what’s my conclusion? These are actually very good products with some stand out stars, so don’t scroll past, have a look at what’s on offer, you may be pleasantly surprised!

See you next week for a what’s on the desk post!
